The ACFA Divestment Leaderboard tracks and acknowledges arts organisations that have taken concrete steps away from banks, super funds and power providers linked to fossil fuel. By giving visibility to these early adopters, we aim to encourage others in the sector to follow suit and build collective momentum. Burrinja operates in the Dandenong Ranges, an environment of stunning beauty and fragility. Our community of artists and audiences is highly engaged with the critical importance of reducing emissions to combat climate change. Day-to-day they live with the impacts of climate change, such as the devastating storms of 2021. We are joining ACFA to maximise the value of our efforts in combating climate change through art.

Bus Projects is joining ACFA because we believe in the power of collective action in effecting change. Artist-run organisations such as ours are built on teamwork and mutuality, and we are proud to be joining a coalition of peers that are similarly guided by shared goals and values. By divesting from fossil fuels, we can put into practice our values and commitment to climate action.

Adapting to the climate emergency requires relational accountability and all of the tools, skills and methods at our disposal to ensure a just and liveable world for future generations. This means divesting from the systems that make this impossible. The Centre for Reworlding joined the ACFA to support a coalition of divestment in the arts…one achievable and accountable reworlding action.

For Footscray Community Arts, our core purpose is to support marginalised communities in the cultural sphere, and we know that these communities will be the most affected by climate change. Cultural institutions play a key role in setting the cultural agenda nationally – so it's vital that we act on climate change not only through the art we present but how we present it.
- FCA has opened an account with Bank Australia and will close their CBA account as soon as they are completely setup, announcing their divestment publicly shortly after.
- FCA’s default super is Australian Ethical Super and they are happy to share ACFA Super resource with new subcontractors.
- FCA have determined that their energy is self-managed and are in conversation with their Board and ED to shift energy retailer to renewable provider.
- FCA have an issue with transitioning completely from gas due to the heritage listing of Henderson House but have a Tesla battery that vastly subsidies costs with renewable energy, which they fundraised for some years ago.
- FCA will look to revisit their sustainability audit via Pangolin and share results.
- FCA are currently developing an Ethical Fundraising Strategy to address sponsorships and donations, after which they will consider the Cut All Ties campaign.

GUTS Dance prides itself on our responsiveness to the times we exist in, and through our values of bravery, commitment, locality, longevity and care, take seriously the role we play in helping to contribute to and shape our communities. We know that collaboration and shared visions can change the path forward and hope that, together, we can challenge extractive industries and see an end to harmful practices that impact the environment. By joining ACFA, we want to encourage our communities and country to be better, and to not accept the status quo when it drives destruction.

Linden New Art is joining ACFA with a clear and practical purpose. Our decision is driven by a recognition of the effectiveness of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. We understand that by collaborating with the ACFA and its members, we can have a more significant impact than we would on our own. Our focus is on real, tangible change in the field of environmental sustainability. This is not just about ideals; it's about taking concrete steps. Our aim is to work together, pool resources, and leverage our shared goals and values to make a substantial difference. Joining is a strategic move that aligns with our commitment to meaningful, actionable change.

With unpredictable and extreme weather impacting the livelihoods and wellbeing of local and global communities, we recognise the disproportionate impact the climate emergency has on First Nations peoples, marginalised communities, refugees and women. MAV was proud to support the launch of A Climate For Art as part of our Diasporas commissioning program. We are committed to demonstrating support for impacted communities experiencing climate displacement and advocate for action informed by land-based knowledge and practices. We sign this pledge and proudly join the coalition of organisations prioritising the urgent response towards this climate crisis.

We work with young people on Darug land in Western Sydney. Environmental protection and care are incredibly important to them (and us!). We want to do everything we can to amplify their voices about what matters and to align our operations with those values.

It takes a huge amount of power every month to keep Schoolhouse Studios open. While it is amazing to support creatives and artists, we are beholden to working in a building that is ultimately not fit for purpose. Through the support of ACFA, we commit to making real and actionable changes to how our organisation consumes, and to be advocates for sustainability and climate in our communities.

Inspired by the work of peers in the UK and Europe, and driven by our commitment to the well-being of our planet and future generations, Slingsby is taking action to create real, sustainable and measurable change. As a company that aims for social impact, with a focus on intergenerational audiences, we believe it is incumbent on us to lead by example. Our aim is to reduce CO2e emissions across our organisational and touring activities, create regenerative work that shifts cultural attitudes, and continue to develop goals and targets for bold climate action.
